Meet the Staff

Nora E. London, ​President of the George London Foundation for Singers, was born and raised in Europe, coming to the United States at the end of World War II. She was married to world-renowned bass-baritone George London from 1954 to 1985, the year of his death. Mrs. London is President of the George London Foundation for Singers which her husband established in 1971. She is honorary president of the George London Stiftung, an Austrian Foundation which sponsors a yearly trip to Vienna and intensive coaching for a George London Award winner. Nora London is the author of a biography of George London Of Gods and Demons and the German translation was published last fall by Locker Verlag in Vienna. She is involved in the New York vocal scene, writes articles for professional publications, and serves on juries of competitions.

John Hauser joined the George London Foundation in 2015 as the Artistic Director.  From 2008 to 2015, he was the Director of the Rehearsal Department at the Metropolitan Opera. Prior to that he was a Managerial Associate at Columbia Artists Management, collaborating with Matthew Epstein, representing  artists including James Morris, Dimitri Pittas, Meredith Arwady,  Mark Delavan, Isabel Leonard and Christine Schäfer.   He has served as the Associate Artistic Administrator at Lyric Opera of Chicago and worked in the airline industry for 15 years.  He studied vocal performance and opera at Southern Methodist University and The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music.  In 2017 was named the Executive Director and joined the Board of the George London Foundation.  He was born and raised in Indianapolis, Indiana.

Margarita Martinez joined the George London Foundation as Administrative Assistant in 2017.  She is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music.  An active choral artist, she has appeared frequently with the New York Philharmonic, the Mostly Mozart Festival and the Orchestra of St. Luke's.   She is a soloist at Church of the Blessed Sacrament and Church of the Ascension.   Margarita was born and raised in Orlando, Florida.
